The stage is set and the curtain rises on The STAGE Theaters 2022 season with Michael Frayn’s NOISES OFF!
AUDITIONS for this comedy classic are TUESDAY | DECEMBER 14, 2021 • 7 • 8 • 9PM with CALLBACKS (if needed) WEDNESDAY | DECEMBER 15.
Called “the funniest farce ever written,” NOISES OFF takes a fond look at the follies of theatre folk, telling the story of itinerant actors and their susceptibility to out-of-control egos, memory loss, and passionate affairs that turn every performance into a high-risk adventure.
This play-within-a-play captures one touring theatre troupe’s flop of a production in three acts: dress rehearsal, opening night performance and one of the final performances near the end of the productions debilitating run.
A window into the inner workings of theatre behind the scenes, NOISES OFF includes all of the greatest farcical elements: slamming doors, on-and-offstage intrigue, and even an errant herring, which all figure into the plot of this ferociously funny farce.
