Girls’ Weekend

Have you ever dreamed of going on a weekend away with just the girls? Or, better yet, been on one? Bet you haven’t been on one like this before!

Lincoln Community Playhouse opens Season 73 with Girls’ Weekend, a farce by Karen Schaeffer, July 20-22 and 27-29. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets start at $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for students (not recommended for children). No person under 4 is allowed at Playhouse shows.

Reservations may be made at lincolnplayhouse.com or by calling box office at 402-489-7529 between 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In this lightning-quick farce, four women travel to Dot’s Northwoods cabin to consume copious amounts of wine, laugh at their lives, trade stories and chat about their book club’s latest selection. However, after the third case of wine comes through the door, it becomes clear there will be more stewing than reviewing. When each woman hides a man on the premises and tells him to wait for the special porchlight signal, the girls’ weekend turns into a madcap, door-slamming chaos.

Appearing in Girls’ Weekend are Rosalie Duffy, Shauna Shaefer, Leticia Martinez-Meitzen, Lauren Parker, Kenyon Koenig, Felix Izel, Joel G. Kreifels and Andrew R. Ferguson. Morrie Enders directs with Kathleen Turner as scenic/lighting designer, Anna Kuhlman as costume designer, Sarah Halsted as stage manager and Nick Turner as tech director.

Season sponsors are Russ’s Market and KFOR.
