Lincoln Community Playhouse has added a performance to the run of Come From Away on August 23 at 2:00 p.m. Other performances are August 15-17 and 22-24 with curtain at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $27.00 for adults and $16.00 for students and may be reserved at lincolnplayhouse.com or by calling the box office at 402-489-7529

Come from Away is based on the true story of the time when the isolated community of Gander, Newfoundland, played host to the world. What started as an average day in a small town turned into an international sleepover, when 38 planes, carrying thousands of people from around the globe, were diverted to Gander’s airstrip on September 11, 2001. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, an open bar, and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family.

Elizabeth Katt, who lived the experience of Come From Away on 9/11 when her plane was stranded in Gander, will be offering a presentation about her experiences at 1:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre before the Sunday matinee performances on August 17, and 24.
In the spirit of the Gander people, the Playhouse is asking audience members to donate personal hygiene items and food which will be given to The Gathering Place to help Lincoln families in need. Items include toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, canned meat, and menstruation products. All who donate will be entered in a drawing to win Season 80 tickets.

The cast includes Julie Enersen, Lauren Silverman Durban, Collette Williams, Bailey West, Chelsea Boyd, Shauna Shaefer, Kylie Meter, Matthew A. Works, Michael Trutna,  Bronson Gierhan, Matt Osmotherly, Max Antoine, Stuart Richey, and Sirr Allen Collen Murry.
