LINCOLN COMMUNITY PLAYHOUSE PRESENTS MAGPIE’S SONG, A NEW MUSICAL, FEBRUARY 13-15, 20-22

Lincoln Community Playhouse presents Magpie’s Song, a new musical by Lincoln native, Zeph Siebler, on February 13-15, 20-22 in the Studio Theatre. Tickets are $27.00 for adults and $16.00 for students and may be reserved at lincolnplayhouse.com or by calling the box office at 402-489-7529 between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

Magpie’s Song is comprised of three, 30-minute musicals inspired by Chinese mythology. There is a Love Story, War Story, and Monster Story with themes of love, redemption, and the spark of human creativity. The show combines a sweeping pop opera score (think Phantom of the Opera/Les Miserables) and brilliantly crafted lyrics (think Sondheim). As the show celebrates storytelling, the audience participates by selecting the order of stories at each performance.

The cast includes Karen Freimund Wills, Hannah Joy Menoc, Penelope Larson, Alex Rownd, BJ Montague, Quentin Hanzlik, Ronnie Clements, and Makena Carlson. Morrie Enders directs with Bryson Cole as music director, Emily Stevens as choreographer, Douglas Clarke as scene designer, Maralee Maldavs as costume designer, Reece McAdams as lighting designer, and Bailey Leuty as stage manager.

Magpie’s Song is sponsored by 10/11 Cares and KFOR. Funding supporters include The Joan M. Williams McKeen Testamentary Trust for The Performing Arts and The National Foundation for Musical Theatre.
