ABOUT THE SHOW: A group of eclectic people of all ages are gathered in a park when a man appears to them and begins to share important stories and tales that change their lives and learn lessons of kindness, tolerance and love. This new adaptation of the timeless musical based on the Gospel according to Matthew is filled with comedy, poignancy and stellar songs from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz, the genius behind the Broadway blockbusters Wicked and Pippin.
ROLES: Male and Female actors need for a total casting of 8 ranging from ages of 16-70+. Each role will have solo number (s) and be involved in the entire show. Looking for dynamic character actor/singers.
Jesus – The most charismatic individual in the cast. High energy, charming, funny, gentle but with strength. He is the sort of person others instinctively follow.
John / Judas – Jesus’ second in command and most ardent disciple and the doubter who begins to question and rebel. Also, the most “serious” and intellectual of the group, though must still possess a good sense of physical comedy.
